The greenhouse

I am pleased to say that the greenhouse is complete, despite the hiatus in my posts. Glazing was completed a few days after the frame went up and after a respectable gap of 24 hours, the moving of seedlings from the polytunnel began. By some quirk of fate the gravel trays I had fitted perfectly. It meant that the lemon tree could be moved out of the conservatory too and so far has not has its usual hissy fit after being moved. There is still more to be done and more staging to make but for now I am enjoying the luxury of being able to have plants at the right height.

I have never been so late with seed sowing but I feel almost vindicated because of the cold spring. I am sure the seedlings will speed up with milder weather and I am stepping up the sowing. I am sowing lots of annuals in cell trays and will thin them out to individual seedlings. This eliminates the need to transplant them which always sets back the growth by a week or so as the plants recover from the move. But others will be transplanted as usual – it is full steam ahead.

Looks terrific. Well done and may it be very successful for you
Thank you. I hope you are well and the garden is looking great. I still have that helichrysum you gave me – I think it is ‘White Barn’ and it is a wonderful plant.
It’s a wonderful amount of space and will be well used!
It will be 🙂
Congratulations! How exciting!
