Bloom in the Park 2017

I have not posted for ages, but I have not been idle! Apart from dealing with estate agents and solicitors, I have been helping with the Springmount Garden Centre exhibit for Bloom, which starts today.

Last year we did our first display and were rewarded with a Gold medal. I have refined our display this year with another display of potted plants but with the theme of ‘The Commuter’s Garden’, the idea being that the display is designed to look at its best in the evening, when you get back from work! I stuck to pastel colours, especially pale blues, some creams, lots of scent and lots of white with variegated foliage. Plus pots to match, and trellis and a mirrored door which I hope will be popular with visitors that like to take selfies!

We put the stand together on Monday and judging took place on Wednesday. We should find out what we got today when we arrive at the show. I will let you know how we got on when I get back. I am at the show until Monday night when it all has to be taken down again.

The construction team: Finn, Jorg, me and Elaine Warren – owner of Springmount Garden Centre
