More views of Allianz Garden Show Ireland
A bit late this time but here’s a few more photos from the Allianz Garden Show Ireland on May 8-10 in the grounds of Antrim Castle. These were taken on Saturday when the weather was kind and sunny – it was not as nice on Sunday.
One of the interesting areas was the ‘Love the Plot you’ve Got’ which is a gardening initiative in association with the Horticultural Trades Association. It comprised several display gardens which would, perhaps, be tricky to translate into real gardens but nonetheless had some interesting ideas.

The Relaxation Garden. I love the way the flowers pick up the colour of the furniture but orange is not the most relaxing colour
There were only two show gardens this year.

The Contemporary Woodland designed by James Purdy – JP Architects Landscape & Design. The judges (which included me) liked the simple design of this and the way that it could be recreated cheaply and easily and still be a fairly practical garden. The plants were largely native and would work together though a large bed of anemones and daffs would be a bit empty after June. But all in all we liked this

My Space was a garden designed by McGee Garden design and was a simple space with a central sitting area with a clever, integrated water feature

lovely pics ty nice and cheerful on this very wet morning . never mind the potatoes need it
Yes, it is a wet start here too. Cold as well which is not as welcome. I am sure the lettuce and slugs are happy 🙂
