A big gold star to the Rhodochiton volubile in the greenhouse. The lone survivor of the propagator fire in March, it grew through and past the tomatoes, flowered all summer, carried on when the tomatoes were pulled up, has survived temperatures down to 0c and still it is blooming away. That is six months of flower from one plant and I have the seeds collected to sow for this year too. So hats off to you rhodochiton – I owe you one and you owe me nothing.
