Safely gathered in
This year my biggest pumpkin was destined to go to the Tara Vie to raise money for the local Autism unit at the Ballycanew School. Due to be completed next spring they still need money to provide equipment for the kids.
The big one last month
The last few nights have been cold and I was worried that this, and the rest of the squashes, would be damaged by frost so Friday I got them all harvested and the big pumpkin was taken down for its starring role. The idea is that customers will have a guess of the weight and there are some great prizes for the lucky guessers that get close to the actual weight.
Here it is with Imelda and Pauline. Of course I can’t tell you how much it weighs!
