Brugmansia ‘Angel’s Love’
It has been a while since I posted a brugmansia but that is simply because no new ones have bloomed lately. They have struggled a bit in the cool, sunless spring but they are starting to pick up speed and I am now pumping them full of food as their roots develop and they start making growth and buds.
The first of the new ones to bloom is B. x candida ‘Angel’s Love’. Brugmansia candida is a hybrid of B. versicolor and B. aurea. ‘Angel’s Love’ is a huge flower, fully 40cm long and has two rows of petals, the inner ‘bloom’ is as big as the outer one and the flower started cream, opened to almost white and is maturing to cream again and has become pale apricot. The most notable aspect is the perfume! Just the one bloom fills the greenhouse with scent. I am looking forward to it getting bigger and having more than one flower open at a time!
