Happy Christmas
Posts have been a bit thin on the ground lately as my father died at the end of last month after a fall. It meant several trips back to the UK and it was not the easiest thing to organise a funeral for just before Christmas. It was touch and go but he was laid to rest last Friday. It was good to see all those relatives who you tend only to see at such events and that make you realise you want to see more.
Anyway, I just want to rest for two days over Christmas now. I wish you all a happy festive season and holiday and hope we all have a successful and productive 2020.
Sorry to learn this, Geoff. I wish you a good rest and as good a Christmas as you can have.
Thank you. And Happy New Year 🙂
I am so sorry.
Thank you 🙂
Deepest sympathies on the death of your father. Also wishing you all the best over the Christmas holiday and all good things in 2020. I think this is your first fully moved in to your new home – or does it just seem like that. Nice Hellibore, I think that’s a H. Orientalis, or certainly very like a dark dusky one I have which starts to flower extremely early, sometimes October/November and keeps going until at least March. Would you like seeds? I usually collect first ones while there are no others out to cross with, and they come true.
Looking forward to your posts in the coming year. I don’t ofTen comment but am mostly reading away!
Thank you. Yes that was an Orientalis. It was Betty Ranicar which was among the best many years ago but not so special now there are so many good seedlings. Yes some seeds would be lovely, thank you. It does seem that more and more flower early. A Christmas rose (H. niger) that flowered at Christmas was once almost mythical but nowadays are common.
Sorry to hear of your father’s death, a sad event though we may be well into adulthood ourselves.
Best wishes to you for the New Year.
Thank you for your wishes. And for following and commenting – I have tried to comment on your blog too but either it does not work or someone has said exactly what I was going to say first!
