Almost wordless Wednesday – a hellebore that is double and spotted
I am struggling to get a talk ready in the evenings and struggling with a huge pile of manure during the day so today it is a quick post – just a nice hellebore. And then, as I looked at the image as I was loading it I was struck by how disgustingly complacent I have become when it comes to hellebores. When I first began to fall for them they had narrow, twisted petals and any chance of a named hellebore began with a price tag of £30 or so – and that was 35 years ago! So here was a photo of a beautifully coloured pink hellebore with nice spotting and it is double – something I would have drooled over in those bygone years. So I will take a moment to enjoy the beauty of this flower and count my blessings.
