Garden Talks – Springmount garden centre

It is going to be a busy spring! I am giving a number of talks at Springmount Garden Centre this spring and summer. Springmount is near Gorey in Co Wexford and every month there are lots of activities including the Wednesday morning Garden Club with Frances Macdonald from The Bay Garden in Camolin.

UPDATE

The seedsowing  talks are now changed

There are now just two talks which are separate so you don’t have to attend all three! the talks are 10 euro each and you will still get to sow some seeds and take them home. The talks will be on March 15 and April 12.

Go to the Springmount site for details of costs and availability – you need to book for these. Most talks last about 90 mins.

April 26 10.30 Growing veg in containers

May 17 Tomato Day. This is a special one and the start of the build up to the Tomato day later in summer. Learn how to grow tomatoes in the greenhouse and outside. How to train them and feed them. What makes this one special is that everyone on the course will get a free ‘unusual’ tomato plant to take away and grow and -hopefully- bring some fruit to the later day. I am growing 30 varieties this year including some that are not usually available in Ireland or even Europe. So if you want to grow a pink, orange, green, white or ‘indigo’ tomato you need to book this course fast!

May 21 Tomato Day – as above – another chance

June 14 Rose day at Springmount. Lots of roses to buy and a talk about how to get the best from your roses.

August 30 Tomato festival – competitions, tasting and tomato-based foods.
